(Click the images to dive into more wonderful experiences!)
Travel along the River Thames on a luxury river cruise and soak up the tranquil atmosphere of the British countryside. Cruise along the most beautiful stretches of the river and listen as your skipper shares the history, stories and iconic landmarks with you.
Explore the River Thames with a luxury river cruise from a number of locations across the UK such as Windsor, Oxford, Henley-on-Thames or form another town or city.
Sit back and relax on one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Thames and listen as your skipper shares the history, stories and secrets of the river with you. As you board your stunning river launch, you can step back in time and delight in the traditions of the river.
We will be delighted to arrange champagne or the drinks of your choice and a picnic for you to enjoy during your cruise, alternatively, you have the option to stop off along your route at one of the riverside restaurants or hotels and we will happily make a reservation for you.
Please note that the access to the boat is such that it means this trip is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Setting off you will cruise under the Grade I listed Marlow Bridge designed by William Tierney-Clark before passing Marlow itself on your right.
Take in the views of the beautiful private houses and open space of Higgins Park. Bisham Abbey, a Grade I listed manor house and home to a National Sports Centre within it’s grounds.
Continuing upstream past the village of Temple you will soon be at Temple Lock, and then through Temple Lock, passing the prestigious Harleyford Estate on your right before approaching Hurley Lock.
A beautiful village nestled in the English countryside, Hurly is home to the world famous Peter Freebody Boatyard - on a summers day you will likely see some of the most beautiful (and expensive!) boats on the river here.
Once up through Hurley Lock the long reach to Hambleden is ahead of you. Here the countryside is abundant and the scenery is magnificent. The calm waters and splendid riverside properties conjure up the memories of the heyday of Henley as the perfect riverside destination.
Henley on Thames, home to the world renowned Henley Royal Regatta,
has an attractive waterfront with many moored boats and resident swans. It is a traditional market town and home to Asquiths, the world famous teddy bear shop and a wonderful selection of options for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
Phyllis Court Club is a traditional private members club with beautiful rooms overlooking the river Thames in Henley.
Phyllis Court offers the perfect setting for a riverside lunch or afternoon tea and if you choose to stay, it offers excellent facilities, superb cuisine and wines, relaxing riverside accommodation and friendly staff.
This elegant historic mansion is set in 18 acres of land with lawns sweeping down to the river. The newly refurbished Riverside Pavilion, a Grade II listed building, overlooks the world famous Henley Regatta course, and is a stunning location from which to watch Henley Regatta.
The club's very close proximity to Henley-on-Thames also makes it an ideal location from which to have a wander around the beautiful riverside market town.
Cliveden Reach is renowned as one of the prettiest spots on the Thames.
Cruise downstream from Cliveden House through Boulters Lock and passing under Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Sounding Arch – the widest brick span bridge in the world at Maidenhead. To this day the trains on the Great West Railway, and soon Crossrail, use this bridge constantly. Boulter's Lock has a wonderful Riverside Brassier without doors terrace and its greatest asset that river view where you can watch the boats and people tootling by.
Boulter's Lock was formerly called Ray Mill Lock, after the adjacent mill owned by the Ray family who produced flour. The first-ever lock keeper was the miller's son, John. The mills became Boulter's Inn in 1950. The word 'bolter' is an old English word for miller, hence the name Boulter's Lock.
Continuing towards Bray you'll pass some beautiful properties,
home to the rich and famous, the keen eyed may spot a celebrity or two. At Bray you'll arrive at The Waterside Inn for a lunch or dinner fully deserving of its 3 Michelin stars.
