At Humphreys of Henley, we have two primary objectives, which combine beautifully to ensure that you have the most memorable experience in the British countryside that you can imagine.
Firstly, we use all of our knowledge and our expertise and experience of living, working, and playing across the British countryside to ensure that when you arrive here you are relaxed, you feel safe, you’re happy that we’ve removed all the worries about your trip, and you know that you are making the best use of your very precious vacation time.
Secondly, everything we do is driven by the Humphreys Promise, which simply states that we will preserve, protect, and prolong the traditions of the British countryside and the people that make it so special. That means from your point of view, that absolutely everything you experience in the British countryside will be authentic, and immersive, and will really give you the full experience of what being in the British countryside is all about.
We work through three steps with you to ensure that you enjoy exactly what you would like to do.
- We spend some time getting to know you. We explore who’s going to be in your party, whether it’s just a couple of friends, you and your significant other, a group of family, a group of friends.
- What interests you? When do you like to eat your main meal? Is it at lunchtime or in the evening? Do you like big hotels set in luxurious grounds or do you prefer a more intimate boutique hotel set in the heart of the city?
- All of those things that are very personal to us all when planning a trip. We ask all of those questions to make sure that we offer you the very best opportunities, which leads me on to our next stage, which is where we draft and finalize your perfect itinerary.
- Having explored your preferences, we will share our recommendations based on our discussions and discoveries, we’ll recommend hotels, wonderful experiences and our favourite restaurants. The choice is entirely yours and your itinerary will be built up around those preferences. We’ll probably have two or three versions of the itinerary until we get to the final one, which is just wonderful, everyone’s happy, and then you really can start to look forward to your fantastic trip.
- Now, while you are getting excited, imagining yourself exploring the countryside and doing all of the things in your itinerary, we’ll be planning and nailing down every detail.
- While you think about what to wear and what to bring, we’ll also be sending you some useful bits of information. For example, if you are going to Stonehenge, we’ll share our Good to Know guide sharing some great contextual information and history. If you’re looking forward to a day at Royal Ascot or Henley Royal Regatta, we’ll send you detailed dress code and all relevant information to make sure that you feel really comfortable and happy on the day.
- We’ll then send you your very final itinerary so you can have a good read, imagine yourselves there, think about what you’re going to look for to make the most of it. We will help to make the anticipation as fun as possible.
We know that the planning and anticipation is all part of the holiday experience, so we make it as engaging as we can. Obviously the discovery and drafting time is determined by the length of your itinerary, but you will experience the same passion and attention to detail from the Humphreys team, whether it’s a 1-day long itinerary or 3-week itinerary.
