Two generations, travelling together. Different rhythms, different interests – but one shared love: exceptional wine and memorable food.
It’s exactly the kind of request we adore. The ones that begin gently, almost tentatively – “we were wondering if…” – and unfold into something far more meaningful.
While the younger generation happily explored the countryside, their parents preferred to take things a little slower. So rather than compromise, we brought everyone together for something that felt entirely right for them.
At Waddesdon Manor, we arranged a private wine tasting in the historic cellars, carefully shaped around their preferences. Before they arrived, we had taken the time to understand what they loved – familiar regions, favourite styles, a curiosity for something new.
As they descended into the cellars, there was that quiet shift. The cool air, the softened light, the sense of stepping into somewhere not often seen. Their sommelier guided them effortlessly – each wine revealing something known, something unexpected, something to talk about.
And that’s when it happens. The moment we always hope for, but never force.
Laughter between pours. Stories shared across generations. Glasses raised not just to the wine, but to being together.
It wasn’t just a tasting. It was their moment.
Not because it was grand – though it was quietly exceptional – but because it was personal. Thoughtful. Entirely theirs.
And that, for us, is always the goal.
