How much does a day in Oxford cost?

Frustratingly, there is no exact answer to this question as it really depends on what you want to do, and how long you want to stay during your time in the city.

Oxford is a truly wonderful place to visit throughout the year. It has something for everybody, whatever your budget and however you would like to see it. If you want to go alone and explore using maps, it is a simple and easy city to navigate. Or if you want to turn up and join one of the group tours that are organised by the local tourist office, there are plenty of those that run throughout the day. You may even choose to follow your walking tour by heading to the boat house for a 1 hour punt to see the city from the perspective of the river.

If you want to do something in a slightly more organised way, we can arrange, for example, for an executive car to pick you up from your hotel, luxury rental or home wherever you are staying and take you to Oxford.

We will then arrange a privately guided walking tour of the really fabulous highlights of Oxford, which include entrances to some of the Oxford University colleges. Here you will learn about the history, beautiful architecture and what the colleges are like now.  You may wish to follow that with a guided museum tour?

We will happily book somewhere lovely for you for you to enjoy lunch, and then you could end your day by having a luxury river cruise with an afternoon tea on board.

If you choose to do that kind of day, it will cost from about £1,600.00 per person for the day, depending on what you want it to include, and how long you wish to spend in Oxford.

The options don’t stop there, if you wanted to add some other treats to the day just described, for example a privately guided tour of the world-famous Bodleian Library with one of the library curators, then the price will be £2,150.00 per person. These prices both include your return car to the location of choice, within an hour and a half radius.

We can also arrange for you to visit the Oxford Botanical Gardens. Your guide will share their knowledge of the plants and history of the garden.

The ultimate day in Oxford

Now, if you really want to go for the ultimate opportunity of exploring Oxford: include all of the wonderful things, including your chauffeured car, the private tour of the colleges and the Bodleian Library and your luxurious river cruise, seeing the beauty of Oxford from the river. And then you could wrap it all up with a truly exceptional experience of dinner in one of the university colleges.

You’ve probably seen the pictures of the Oxford University college dining halls, they are just magnificent. The opportunity to have a really fabulous dinner in one of these hallowed buildings is exceptional. The price based on two guests would be £3,500.00, per person, the price will obviously vary for larger groups, for which we are happy to cater to.

Overview

Like we said, there is no exact answer to how much a day in Oxford would cost, as it depends on what you want to do during your time in the city. But now you know that you can choose from a simple group tour, a self punted punt and a wander through Oxford, through to incredibly exclusive access to the hallowed halls and a guided tour with an expert private guide.
