Goodwood is England’s greatest sporting estate. The seat of the Dukes of Richmond for over three centuries, the family has always welcomed their friends and guests to share in their love of the sport. Hunting, shooting, cricket, horseracing, golf, flying and motor racing have all been introduced by enthusiastic family members.
Goodwood events have been at the heart of the English summer season for at least two hundred years. It hosts the internationally famous Festival of Speed, The Qatar Goodwood Festival and the Goodwood Revival, three of the largest events in the British sporting and social calendar.
Within its 12,000 acres, Goodwood is home to one of the largest lowland organic farms in England, a famous Battle of Britain airfield, a historic racecourse and motor circuit and two golf courses.
Today, Goodwood is home to the annual Goodwood Revival, the world’s most popular historic race meeting, as well as a host of other motorsport activities which take place throughout the year, including track days and car launches.
Goodwood Revival is an annual three-day festival held in September consisting of the types of cars and motorcycles that would have competed on the original circuits between 1948 and 1966. The event celebrates and recreates the glamour of motor racing as it used to be and sees the return of the Halcyon days of Goodwood.
It is the only historic race meeting to be entirely dressed in the clothing of the period clothing.
The dates for Goodwood Revival 2025 are from Friday 12th September to Sunday 14th September
The annual Festival of Speed, which was started by the Earl of March in 1993, takes place in the park around the house as drivers compete up Goodwood’s legendary 1.16-mile hill climb. Combined with the Moving Motor Show, which takes place on the first day of this four-day meeting, the Festival of Speed is the largest car culture event in the world.
The dates for Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 are from Thursday 10th July to Sunday 13th July
Also known as Glorious Goodwood, The Qatar Festival is a five-day festival and social event with 14 action-packed horse races. This is an event you do not want to miss. The atmosphere reflects an English summer garden party with ladies wearing tea dresses and flowing maxi dresses and the men, dressing in smart, signature linen suits and panama hats.
The festival is set upon the beautiful, picturesque racecourse at the Goodwood estate and looks onto the top of the South Downs. Horseracing has taken place here since 1801, and there are no visions of it stopping any time soon!
The flagship event, the Qatar Goodwood Festival, is one of the most prestigious events on the racing calendar. The five-day festival is part of 19 race days that complete Goodwood’s racing season.
The dates for The Qatar Goodwood Festival 2025 are from Tuesday 29th July to Saturday 2nd August
To understand the world’s love affair with the Land Rover, you need to drive one and preferably drive a classic. We make no bones about it, these vehicles have seen life, and they have character and patina, which makes them totally unique. As quintessentially British as a plate of fish and chips, the boxy, utilitarian Land Rover has become an iconic part of what it is to be British.
Feel every bump and drop as you adventure through rutted tracks and woodland forest across Goodwood’s glorious Estate in our fleet of classic Land Rovers from the 1960s. Embrace the bouncy ride and lack of modern technology as you take in the breathtaking views and stunning scenery of the Sussex South Downs.
